A Teachers Growth and Gratitude
As the new school year began, See Pon stepped into her teaching role filled with a blend of
excitement and uncertainty. The unfamiliar methods of “mind-mapping” and the “project
approach” felt daunting, leaving her often confused and lost. Yet, she recalled a vital lesson from
her homeroom teacher: the importance of perseverance and problem-solving in the face of
challenges.
Determined not to give up, See Pon decided to share her feelings with her students. To her
delight, they responded with warmth and enthusiasm, embarking on a journey of discovery
together. This collaborative learning not only enriched their classroom experience but also filled
See Porn’s heart with joy, solidifying her bond with her students.
A few months into the school year, See Pon had the opportunity to enhance her skills during a study tour at the Starfish School in Chiang Mai. Under the mentorship of Kru Nam, the principal of the Ma Oh Jo school, she found the encouragement and support she needed to navigate this uncharted territory. Her commitment to self-development and resilience transformed her into a more confident educator. “I am proud of myself for staying the course toward my dream of education and returning to my village to uplift others like me,” she says, her head held high. When asked to share words of wisdom with her fellow teachers and students, See Porn reflected on her experiences as a student. “As a new teacher, I’ve learned that when students feel
bored, I need to do more. It’s my responsibility to discover what excites and motivates
them. This is my job!”
For her students, she emphasizes the importance of language and self-expression. “Just be
yourself. Don’t be afraid to show your passions. Never give up, and you will find your path.
Celebrate your accomplishments, big and small. Do not be influenced by outside peer
pressure.” See Pon hopes to be remembered for her kindness and respect rather than aggressiveness. “I want my students to learn not only academics but also valuable life skills from my own experiences.” With heartfelt sincerity, See Pon expresses her gratitude for the guidance she has received. “I want to thank the Lord for His wisdom throughout my journey. He has been my constant support through ups and downs. I know I can pray for wisdom in challenging times. Although I may not see Him, I trust in His unseen power and grace, which brings peace to my heart. I believe I can face anything. He has taught me that it all starts small as a mustard seed; if I stay rooted in Him and His word, my life will branch out and flower,
turning into fruit.”
Through her journey, See Pon exemplifies the impact of faith, dedication, resilience, and
compassion—qualities that inspire not only her students but also her community. Her story
