Welcome, Scott Carolan, to our team!
We are thrilled to welcome our newest board member to the Lanna Foundation! His journey with us began years ago when he first encountered the incredible work of Integrated Tribal Development Foundation (ITDF) while serving on staff at The Well Community Church. Stepping in to lead a global exposure trip to Ma Oh Jo, he was immediately struck by the warmth and hospitality of the ITDF staff and the vibrant community that welcomed them. From sharing meals with villagers to being invited to celebrate a local wedding, his first visit left a profound impression. This experience ignited a passion for the mission of ITDF, paving the way for his continued involvement and now, his leadership on our board. We are excited to have him bring his heart and vision to our team!
Curious about what drives Scott’s passion for the Lanna Foundation and what he’s most excited about as our newest board member? We asked him to share his vision and hopes for the future. You won’t want to miss what he had to say—keep reading to find out!
What does Lanna mean to you?
On my three trips to Thailand I have been able to see and work alongside the ITDF staff and the villagers with multiple projects including clean water, coffee, and education. We also have had the opportunity to pray with the staff and some of the villagers as they struggle to find a way out of poverty. I believe that the greatest thing we have to offer the hill tribes is hope. Hope for abundant clean water. Hope for a way to make a fair living and take care of their families. Hope for a bright future for their kids through education. But most importantly, Hope that God loves them and we love them enough to come alongside them and help meet tangible needs as well as spiritual needs.”

What is your hope for the Lanna Foundation for your time as a board member?
“As I come into the Lanna Foundation as a board member I simply hope to keep moving forward the good work that those before me have started and continue to do. I want to bring awareness to the needs of the Hill Tribes. I want to connect people with resources to those needs so that they can feel the joy of giving. I want to come alongside and invest in the ITDF staff in any way possible to encourage them. Most of all I simply want to serve and be a blessing in any way that I can.”

What would you say to someone who is just starting to learn about Lanna Foundation and ITDF?
“I would say that if you can go visit and serve, you should go. Your life will never be the same. I would say that you can be confident that any resources that you choose to invest, your time, your talent, your money, will be invested in a way that create lasting and generational change and will have an eternal impact.”
Thank you, Scott, for sharing your heart for the mission and for joining our team!
