Welcome, Hannah Brooks, to our team!

Introducing our newest board member, Hannah Brooks, whose journey with the Lanna Foundation began through a long-standing friendship. Having known Debbie Tingley, Lanna’s Hands To Heart Director, for over thirty years, Hannah was inspired by the incredible progress the Lanna Foundation and Integrated Tribal Development Foundation (ITDF) have made in their mission to end poverty in the hill tribes of Northern Thailand. This connection sparked a deep appreciation for the foundation’s work, ultimately leading Hannah to join our board and further support this impactful cause!

Curious about what drives Hannah’s passion for the Lanna Foundation and the impact she’s eager to make as our newest board member? We sent her a few questions to find out, and her answers are definitely worth the read—keep going!

What does Lanna mean to you?

“While on my first trip to Southeast Asia, I fell in love with the people, but was
deeply troubled by the level of poverty. When I returned home, I discovered
Tabitha – a nonprofit that was making a significant difference in Cambodia
through community development. Over a number of years, I utilized my marketing
expertise to sell Tabitha handicrafts, fundraise and participated in house building.
While Tabitha is now closed, I still feel a deep calling to serve in Southeast Asia
and am honored to join the Lanna Foundation and ITDF’s mission. needs.

What is your hope for the Lanna Foundation for your time as a board member?

I look forward to substantially raising awareness of the amazing work the
foundations are doing alongside the hill tribes and in turn increasing donations,
expanding markets for the goods the tribes produce and attracting more volunteers.”

What would you say to someone who is just starting to learn about Lanna Foundation and ITDF?

“Thank you so much for your interest in ending poverty for the Hill Tribes of Northern Thailand. The Lanna Foundation has opportunities for involvement no matter what season of your life you are in. We welcome assistance with building awareness of the work that we do, fundraising for our programs, purchasing handicrafts and volunteering for local events or on the ground in Thailand.”

Thank you, Hannah, for sharing your heart for the mission and for joining our team!
